Are you on the hunt for the best under-desk treadmill to complete your workspace? Fortunately for you, our expert product testers at Garage Gym Reviews are treadmill aficionados. We’ve tested more than 40 treadmills with a handful of those being under-desk options.
In this Egofit Walker review, we’ll dive into the machine details and our hands-on experience with this unique incline under-desk mini treadmill.
We’re Walkers, Runners, And Lifters
Our Garage Gym Reviews expert product testers are a mix of cardio nuts and weight room fanatics. While we may not all enjoy the same form of exercise, we agree that regular exercise is a must—whether that be yoga, lifting weights, or reaching 10,000 steps a day.
For this Egofit Walker review, our resident walking enthusiast and performance editor Anthony O’Reilly put this treadmill to the test. Anthony is not only an avid walker—often walking 15,000 steps in a single day—he’s also a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach with NASM.
Plus, GGR senior director of content and competitive weightlifter Kate Meier tested the Egofit walker. Kate is not only an expert product tester, she also has several industry gold-standard certifications including CF-L1, NASM-CPT, and USAW-L1.
Between our two product testers, we asked them to test and score the Egofit Walker based on 12 different categories. Both Kate and Anthony used our in-depth fitness equipment testing methodology to rate all categories on a scale of 1 to 5. Here is an example of questions they had to cover while testing:
- Durability: What is the motor size and strength? Does the machine shake or wobble while in use? If so, at what speed?
- Adjustability and ergonomics: What is the size of the walking area? Are there adjustments to customize your treadmill workout?
- Footprint and portability: How easy will it be for the average person to move or stow away the treadmill? How much room does it take up when not stowed?

A Quick Look at the Egofit Walker Under-Desk Treadmill
Egofit is a manufacturer of cardio machines designed for work from home folks. Our experts recommend using Egofit products with an adjustable standing desk for the best experience during your workday and optimal ergonomics.
The company offers four treadmill models and one under-desk exercise bike, but for the purposes of this review, we’re focusing on our experience with the Egofit Walker Plus-M1T. On the Egofit website (or Amazon), you’ll find several other products including:
- Egofit Walker Pro-M1
- EGOFIT ComfortDeck-M2
- EGOFIT ComfortDeck-M2T
- Egofit Desk Bike
Before You Buy
- The Egofit Walker Plus has a slight incline set to 5% with no way to make adjustments.
- It’s not designed for running, offering a max speed of 3.7 mph.
- This treadmill with foldable handrail is suitable for use under a desk or in your living room.
Is the Egofit Walker Plus Worth It?
The Egofit walker earns a 3-out-of-5-star rating for overall value from our product testers Anthony and Kate. We know that walking pads and under-desk treadmills are all the rage on TikTok and Instagram, but mini treadmill specifications often don’t work for everyone.
Under-desk treadmills are much shorter than traditional treadmills and don’t offer the same kind of power or weight capacity as a commercial treadmill or one of the best treadmills for heavy people.
That said, there are plenty of people who will get value out of adding the Egofit Walker to their home office or gym. Just be aware there are less expensive options on the market and the Egofit only offers a one-year warranty, which is rather short for a motorized machine.
Great for:
- Increasing daily step count
- Small spaces and home offices
- Folks who want to avoid assembly
Not recommended for:
- Running speeds
- Long walking sessions
- Folks over 220 pounds

Workout Experience With The Egofit Walker Treadmill
Our GGR product testers give positive overall feedback about their workout experience with the Egofit Walker Plus. Both Anthony O’Reilly and Kate Meier used the Egofit treadmill for weeks at a time to gain a full understanding of what it’s like to use it.
Anthony is most surprised by the fact the short walking deck worked for his over 6-foot frame. “Even with my longer stride I was able to get a decent workout on this thing,” he says.
“The 5% incline isn’t anything that’s going to kill you, but it definitely gets the heart rate up after just a few minutes compared to a flat treadmill,” Anthony adds.
Kate reports her testing experience lasted several months saying, “I probably walked a few hundred miles on it in total and it’s still working just fine.”
Kate’s only callout is that it can get a little redundant. “There are no built-in programs and you can only go up to about 3.7 mph, so all the workouts I did were virtually the same,” she says.
Footprint and Portability
It may not come as a surprise that this mini treadmill earns a high 4-out-of-5-star rating for footprint and portability. It’s just over 3 feet in length and a bit wider than 2 feet. Although it has a super small footprint, our testers docked a point because while it may be small, it weighs about 60 pounds.
“For folks not used to lifting that much weight, it could be a struggle,” says Kate. “There are maneuverable wheels, but no handle to help with moving.I personally just moved it around by picking it up and toting it from room to room.”
Durability and Construction
Some of the best treadmills for home gyms offer at least a 275-pound weight capacity and a 2.5 continuous horsepower motor (which typically earns treadmills a middle-of-the-road 3-star rating). These two factors typically ensure a more stable, durable treadmill experience free from shaking and shifting.
Surprisingly, the Egofit Walker has a 220-pound weight limit and 2 horsepower motor, which is quite powerful for such a tiny machine. Even though this falls under our 3-star standards, both Kate and Anthony give the Egofit walker a 3-out-of-5-star rating for durability based on the compact size.
The one issue that came up for Kate was some belt slipping from time to time. “However, I used this on carpeting and my floor has a bit of slope. Otherwise, this is a pretty sturdy machine and this was the only time it made any noise.”
Ergonomics and Customizations
When it comes to ergonomics, our testers are rating and reviewing the belt length, width, and materials used. We want to ensure that you know what you’re getting and what type of exercise is best for each treadmill we review.
In the case of under-desk treadmills, everything is much smaller. The Egofit earns a 3-star rating, but don’t let that scare you from purchasing, we still think it’s usable for taller folks with a unique design free from a motor hood.
Normally, we’re looking for 55-inch-long running decks so people can take a full running stride. But this mini treadmill doesn’t support running speeds, which means it’s a dedicated walking treadmill. The 34.25-inch walking belt is significantly smaller than most treadmills we test.

However, the treadmill is designed with the motor under the belt, which completely eliminates the motor hood. If you’ve ever used a treadmill before, you know that your toes can scuff the motor hood if you’re not careful. With the elimination of that obstacle, even tall people can use the Egofit without having to shorten their stride.
GGR expert product tester Anthony is over 6-feet tall and says, “The ergonomics were actually fine. I used it barefoot, with socks, and shoes and all experiences were pretty run-of-the-mill.”
RELATED: Best Treadmill for Tall Runners
Typically, with customizations, we task out expert testers to review controls like incline, decline, speed range. For this treadmill, those tests were not possible since the Egofit has fixed 5% incline and maximum speed of 3.7 mph. That means the speed is the only thing you can adjust.
“The deck isn’t uncomfortable, but the permanent incline is a bummer for me,” says Kate.
Both Kate and Anthony give the Egofit a 2-out-of-5-star rating for customizations. “This score might be a little harsh considering what this product is meant for, but I would’ve liked to see it go a little faster,” says Anthony.

Technology and Conveniences
The Egofit Walker is not the most technologically advanced treadmill, but that’s for a good reason. It’s meant to be a minimalist treadmill and designed to be used while you’re working.
You’ll be able to use the LCD screen to view speed, steps, and distance. “The simplicity makes it incredibly easy to use,” says GGR tester Kate. “My kids used it, too. They loved it.”
You can also download the FitShow app to remote control your speed settings from your phone or smart device. This app earns the treadmill a 2-star rating for tech features.

And when you fold that handrail up again, you have some additional reassurance with a safety key in the handrail with both models.

The main difference between these mini treadmills is the incline settings, tread belt length, and price. Although the specs are pretty similar, the LifePro treadmill offers a slightly higher incline, smaller footprint, and a smaller price tag. Customer Experience
Our experience with Egofit is through Amazon, where you can find the brand’s entire lineup of cardio machines. The Egofit Walker Plus is eligible for free returns within 30 days and financing available through Affirm.
We recommend purchasing through Amazon on a product like this because the Egofit HQ and customer support team is based in Hong Kong. However, Egofit has two USA-based shipment centers in California and New Jersey, so you won’t be waiting for international shipping. If you decide to go directly through the Egofit website, you may like knowing you’ll have the same 30-day window to make returns.

When it comes to the warranty, all Egofit products are backed with a one-year warranty. That said, we noticed on the Egofit website there was a product registration landing page to register your treadmill within the first 30 days of purchase.
Because our testers used Amazon to order the Egofit Walker Plus, it was super smooth sailing. The treadmill arrived in one large package and is ready to use right after unboxing.
“No assembly required other than plugging it in: Easy squeezy,” says Anthony. Based on this, both testers rate delivery and setup 5 out of 5 stars.
Customer Reviews
On Amazon, there are over 800 customer reviews and the Egofit Walker has an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. After reading through customer reviews, we noticed there are quite a few customers who experienced mechanical problems (or the treadmill not working) after just a few weeks or months. However, these 1- and 2-star reviews only make up about 6% of the overall customer reviews.
One 3-star review left a detailed list about pros and cons of the Egofit and explained that his Apple Watch and the metrics on the treadmill—like mileage, step count, and calories—didn’t match. That said, if you own a wearable fitness tracker (or smartphone), it may be worth having it on you while walking to get an accurate read of your activity.
Final Verdict of Our Egofit Walker Review
The Egofit Walker Plus treadmill is a rather affordable investment to your home gym (or home office) if you’re looking to ramp up your step count. It’s easy to cart around from your office to the living room to get steps throughout the day. The Egofit Walker is an ideal addition if you appreciate a treadmill with the following:
- Fixed 5% incline
- Top speed of 3.7 mph
- No motor hood to trip over
- Price tag under $500 on Amazon
