The Bells of Steel Plate-Loaded Cable Tower is an affordable and compact way to add a cable machine to your home gym and expand the number of exercises you can complete. The tower has a footprint a little less than 2.5 by 2.5 feet and is under $400. The small footprint does mean the tower must be bolted down to be used safely. You can add an optional second upright to improve the stability of the machine, but you should still bolt it down.
This tower fits most racks that are at least 76 inches tall, and it has universal slot brackets at the top and bottom and a 5.75-inch slot to accommodate most power rack hole spacing. The tower has a weight capacity of 250 pounds which can be accomplished by loading plates on the two 8.25-inch loadable sleeves.
There are very few reviews of this cable tower. Customers found the assembly instructions vague and the process long. Once the machine was assembled, however, users generally enjoyed the cable tower. They liked that it was affordable and compact. There were complaints that the pulley system could’ve been smoother, especially at lower weights, but they noted it was good considering the price. Note that this tower may be out of stock when you attempt to purchase it, as most of the questions on the company site were a variation of “when will this be back in stock?”.
