The ASICS Gel-Nimbus 24 Lite-Show is a neutral running shoe designed to support distance training, providing advanced impact protection and maximum cushioning in a lighter shoe. Its jacquard mesh upper is both breathable and reflective, enhancing visibility during low-light conditions. This running shoe still features a flexible midfoot panel and FF BLAST PLUS cushioning, which work together to provide comfortable support along the underfoot and to encourage a solid toe-off. However, some runners found the forefoot cushioning to be lacking.
The rearfoot and forefoot GEL Technology Cushioning System is engineered to minimize shock during impact and support the foot’s natural gait. The Gel-Nimbus 24 Lite-Show comes with a 13 millimeter heel-to-toe drop, which promotes good transitions. Described by some runners as “the best running shoe ever made,” this particular model features a reduced weight by 10 grams, which ensures that it feels light on the feet even during longer runs without compromising cushioning or comfort.
Other notable features include the FLYTEFOAM cushioning which provides lightweight impact absorption and an OrthoLite X-55 sockliner to promote a more secure fit. The 3D space construction of the shoe is stated to improve compression and cushioning of each footstrike. Although the knit tongue is claimed to have a softer and more supportive feel over the top of the foot, several runners felt the padding was too thin and rather uncomfortable.
This running shoe incorporates ASICS LITE rubber, which is known for being lighter, stronger, and more sustainable than standard outsole rubbers. This material provides a durable, yet lightweight sole that can withstand the wear and tear of long-distance training. It is also equipped with AHAR outsole rubber, which stands for ASICS High Abrasion Rubber. This rubber compound is strategically placed in areas of high-wear on the outsole, providing increased durability and reducing the risk of early wear and tear.
